As
most of you have heard, Congress resently passed a bill which
would attempt to ban certain types of online gambling. This bill,
which they knew americans would not support, was snuck onto an
unrelated port security bill without most people knowing. It has
not yet been signed into law by President Bush, but he is expected
to sign it within the next two weeks.
This bill bans the use of credit cards, checks and electronic
funds for online wagers. However, it does not mention anything
about third party payment processors like Neteller
and Firepay. So for the time
being, it is still 100% legal for US players to gamble online
using these methods.
After
the bill is signed by President Bush, you can still play!
There will be a period of up to 270 days beginning on the date
of the enactment for a board including the US Federal Reserve
and the US Attorney General to prescribe regulations requiring
each designated payment system and all participants therein to
identify and block or otherwise prevent or prohibit restricted
transactions. So during this period you should still be able to
use these payment methods.
So
what is Neteller and Firepay? They are a third party
payment processing company which is much like Paypal.com. You
can use your credit card or other methods to deposit into this
third party account, and then transfer these funds to the online
casino or poker room of your choice. When withdrawling winnings
from a casino, they can also be deposited back into your third
party account. You can then do either a bank draft, or use your
personal debit card for the third party account to access your
funds from nearly any ATM worldwide. At the bottom of this page
we will list some commonly accepted payment processors.
Some
Online Casinos have stopped accepting US Players.
A few online casinos have stopped allowing new us players to register
at their casinos pending the outcome of this bill. The main casino
we have targeted in our roulette book is no longer accepting players
from the United States, So in our ebooks we will mention which
casinos US Players should use that will still accept wagers during
the 270 day grace period. In each of our ebooks there
is a link for US Players to follow which will show you which casinos
are still accepting new US registrations. We have already
tested which casinos are compatible with our systems.
We
need to let the government know that we will not stand for this!
In the upcoming weeks we will be updating this page with information
and links relating to this situation. In the past the government
passed a bill which would allow US Ports to be controlled by foreign
countries, Americans were outraged and got the bill overturned.
We can do the same thing with this bill, we need to stand up for
our rights.
Contact
CNN and let them know how you feel! We are all upset
with what the US has done but lets fight back. The news station
CNN which is known around the world has a show called The Situation
Room with Jeff Cafferty. He loves to point out abuses of Congress
like attaching a gaming bill to a Port security bill and he believes
in peoples rights.
If
you want to vent and fight back go to http://www.cnn.com/feedback/forms/form5.html?65
and express your views politely and if they get enough letters
then maybe they will do a spot on this. Use your own words but
I recommend concentrating on
-How
sneaky they got this bill passed by attaching it to a non related
bill
-Taking away our right to choose (gamble online for adults)
-Ask them to do a poll if they think this bill should be enacted.
I
urge you to go now before Bush signs this into law and even afterwards,
let your thoughts be heard. You only enter your first name so
there is no risk. Spread this message to all of the boards you
visit and do it now. In order for it to take affect, it must first
be signed into law by George Bush. This is likely to take place
in the next two weeks, so we must act now. Stand
up and support your rights!
